Write for Scribente Maternum

Updated: Oct 12, 2021

Scribente Maternum gives you the rest and the space you need: time away from being a mom so you have the space to write and create. Time to pause and reflect on those little humans who inspire you to write in the first place.

We are also here to elevate voices that the world needs to hear.

This platform is for you. It is for your writing, for your exploration, for your voice.

But we need your voice to help us grow.

Calls for Submissions

This if your chance to be featured right here, in this unique and brave Scribente Maternum space. We are excited to use this blog to feature a vast array of writers who identify in the maternal role.

We invite you to submit on our first topic: Balance. Because that is the very notion upon which this Scribente Maternum world is based. It is the perpetual struggle we all face, as we are both inspired by and distracted by the young people in our lives.

Submissions are now open in both the personal essay and fiction categories. Give us roughly 500-1,500 words on what balance means to you. Submit to one category or the other, or try your hand at both. We will accept one submission per category until December 15, 2021.

Selected submissions will be proudly featured in this space, across our social media channels, and at our Scribente Maternum retreat in January.

What will we look for?

  • Your most earnest, honest self.

  • Your brave, authentic voice.

  • Adherence to the theme, in whatever manner suits you and your writing best.

  • You! Open, vulnerable, perfectly imperfect you.

How to Submit

Email your submission straight to our inbox at hello [at] scribentematernum [dot] com.

Include your submission in the body of the email and note whether you are submitting fiction or nonfiction. No attachments please.

Use the subject "Scribente Blog Submission."

We will notify all submitted entries soon after the December 15 deadline.
